Vancouver Cantata Singers wins 2019 Canada Council Healey Willan Prize!
We are thrilled to announce the Vancouver Cantata Singers has been awarded the prestigious 2019 Canada Council for the Arts Healey Willan Prize for Best Performance at the National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs. The VCS was also awarded First Place in the Adult Mixed-Voice Category, Best Performance of a Canadian Work in all Categories

Björk’s origin of the universe, Cosmogony
For our next concert, Musica Universalis: Music of the Spheres on February 23rd, we asked Kristopher Fulton (past composer-in-residence for VCS) to arrange Cosmogony by Icelandic artist Björk for mixed choir. Cosmogony was released as the second single from her eighth album Biophilia (2011). The Cosmogony lyrics are based on several myths about the creation of the universe.
